Legal advice to agents, intermediaries and players in relation to international transfers. The cases of players De Jong, Vlahovic and Barella and clubs Al Nassr and Montpellier.

Elite Law has assisted hundreds of agents, intermediaries, clubs and players over the years in connection with transfers of an international nature.

Among the many, the most egregious transfers in which we have been involved, both from a media and economic perspective, were those of Dutch national team player Frenkie De Jong from Ajax Amsterdam to FC Barcelona, that of striker Dušan Vlahović to Juventus FC, and that of Italian national team midfielder Niccolò Barella to FC Internazionale.

In these contexts, we provided advice in multiple aspects: for the player in relation to the registration for the new club, on issues of sports labour law, international taxation (also thanks to the support of trusted professionals with whom we have been collaborating for a long time) and image rights; for the agents and intermediaries involved, clarifying the regulations applicable to them in the various countries with respective limitations, rights and duties, as well as negotiating the legal part of their contracts with the selling and/or buying clubs.

On the other side, that of the clubs, we like to mention the continuous assistance we have been giving for years to various clubs worldwide and, in particular, to the Al Nassr club of Saudi Arabia and the French Ligue 1 club Montpellier HSC in a variety of issues related to their international transfers, both from the contractual and regulatory point of view.
